SOMI Brace (Sternal Occipital Mandibular Immobilizer)

A SOMI (Sternal Occipital Mandibular Immobilizer) brace is a type of Cervical-Thoracic Orthosis (CTO) that controls lateral flexion, extension and rotational movements of the cervical vertebrae.
This 4-piece construction includes support for the Sternum, Occipital (back of the head), Mandibular (lower jaw and chin), and cervical & thoracic areas. It is used for minimally unstable fractures. It is made from high quality polypropylene plastic, skin friendly EVA foam padding, and lightweight but sturdy aluminium rods. SALO Orthotics SOMI Brace is lightweight, airy, highly adjustable and easy to install. The length of the rods can be easily adjusted as per patient’s need. The brace’s lightweight design also makes it suitable for the elderly.
